Inventář rudolfínské kunstkomory z let 1607–1611 není lokačním soupisem, ale zachycuje objekty podle jejich materiálové nebo provenienční příbuznosti. Pozoruhodné a ojedinělé je, že je opatřen rejstříkem, podchycujícím jednotlivé kapitolky i s označením příslušné folie, což ulehčuje vyhledávání a zrcadlí i celek sbírky - je tak i jakýmsi jejím “katalogem”. Současně je inventář nenahraditelným pramenem s velkou výpovědní hodnotou a hraje zásadní roli nejen pro studium kunstkomory Rudolfa II.

Recently, the history of collection is a current topic and in this connection Early Modern chambers of curiosities. A new view of the Kunstkammer of Rudolf II provided the discovery of an inventory from 1607-1611, which is not a mere locational list, but rather a catalogue capturing the objects according to their similarity in material or provenience.
