Méně často se zde setkáváme s dalšími výmladkovými dřevinami – dubem (Quercus petraea agg.), bukem (Fagus sylvatica) a javory, zejména babykou (Acer campestre). Nejčastějšími bylinnými průvodci převážně habrových lesíků jsou Asarum europaeum, Convallaria majalis, Galium odoratum, Galeobdolon montanum, Polygonatum multiflorum, Poa nemoralis a Viola reichenbachiana. Description in English Research into coppiced woods on the edge of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands, between Tišnov and Bystřice nad Pernštejnem, revealed dozens of copses, with hornbeam (Carpinus betulus) prevailing. Other species of coppiced trees were less frequent, including oak (Quercus petraea agg.), beech (Fagus sylvatica) and maple, especially field maple (Acer campestre). In the main, they form separate islands in the midst of fields and meadows, and the places where rocks removed from surrounding fields used to be heaped. Remarkably, the warmth-loving hornbeam occurs not only in the second beech-oak and third oak-beech vegetation stage (Carpinion alliance), but reaches 650 m above sea level on the border between the fourth beech and fifth fir-beech vegetation stage (Fagion alliance). It is obvious that coppiced hornbeam stands there were once encouraged around villages as sources of timber of great heating potential. The most frequent herbs accompanying hornbeam woods are Asarum europaeum, Convallaria majalis, Galium odoratum, Galeobdolon montanum, Polygonatum multiflorum, Poa nemoralis and Viola reichenbachiana. The diagnostic species of the Carpinion Hepatica nobilis alliance was only recorded in 13 of 120 locations, with hornbeam growing there far beyond the boundaries of its typical occurrence. It was disclosed that the species diversity of the undergrowth of isolated woods depends on the period of forestation, the segmentation of the landscape mosaic and on the proportion of forested to non-forested areas in the surroundings.
