AnnotationThe effect of heat stress and recovery from it in Chlamydomonas reinhardtii was analysed in detail (Hemme et al., 2014) and revealed cell cycle arrest along with metabolism changes enabling stress response. The aim of the current study was to investigate the influence of high temperature (39°C) on the cell cycle machinery. Cultures of C. reinhardtii (21 gr) were synchronised by light/dark regime (14/10 light/dark cycle, 30°C, 550 µmol.m 2.s-1) in a laboratory scale multi cultivator. For the experiments, the cells were grown is HS medium at 30°C (control) and 39°C (sub-lethal temperature) under an incident light intensity of 550 µmol.m 2.s-1.
