In this paper I argue that the murder of Yugoslav King Alexandr Karadjordjević and French Minister of Foreign Affairs Louis Barthou in October 1934 in Marseille influenced international political relations in Europe in the mid-30s. Special attention will be paid to the transformation of the character of the Czechoslovak-Yugoslav relations after this event and the impact on the Little Entente as an allied group whose members were both these countries together with Romania. The chapter is based upon the research in Czech and foreign archives (The Archives of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Archives of Yugoslavia etc.), press and Czech (and Slovak) and foreign literature.
