The book The Czech Avant-Garde Literary Movement Between the Two World Wars tells the little-known story of the renaissance of Czech literary arts in the period between the two world wars. The avant-garde writers during this period broke down the barrier between genres, styles, but also between literary and spoken language.
The book in seven chaprters offers a very useful outline of the development of the Czech avant-garde literary movement between the two world wars. Besides this the book focuses mainly on Czech proletarian movement, poetism and works of art by V. Nezval, J. Seifert, V. Vančura, but also on relationships between The Prague Linguistic Circle and the Czech avant-garde.
