High loadings of platinum (60 wt%) were precipitated onto research grade carbon black supports (CB3 and CB6) provided by Imerys Graphite & Carbon Ltd. (Switzerland) for new targets. The up-scaled 10-gram synthesis Pt/C electrocatalysts were thoroughly characterized in order to draft Economic Scale up Model. Batches of the 10-gram size synthesized were sufficient for the preparation of MEAs prototypes and as back up references.
