AnnotationPolymorphism in gene copy number can reflect recent phylogeographic history of populations as well as contribute to adaptation. In the hybrid zone of the two mouse subspecies, we aim to explore the CNV of a subset of protein-coding genes located within the regions of extensive introgression across the species barrier compared to the regions of limited introgression. The initial part of the study involved the choice of the candidate loci based on the existing data of mouse genome structural variation found in the public databases, and we began genotyping the CNV of a few genes known to play a role in the developmental and physiological processes that are likely to affect the maintenance of the species barrier.
