    New short linear analogs of bovine cationic dodecapeptide bactenecin, one of the smallest naturally occurring antimicrobial peptides, were prepared by the standard Fmoc solid phase synthesis on 2-chlorotrityl chloride resin. The crude peptides were purified by precipitation and desalted by gel filtration. Purity of isolated peptides was characterized by RP-HPLC, capillary electrophoresis and mass spectrometry.
