Mitigation of the Runaway Electrons (RE) after disruptions present one of the key challenges for safe operation of future fusion reactors. In support of the related research efforts (see e.g. [1]-[7]), systematic studies of generation and losses of RE in the COMPASS tokamak started in early 2014 inthe Framework of the EUROfusion WP14-MST2-9 research project. Recent results from the disruption studies induced by Ar puff are presented. Next, it is shown that plasma current ramp-upproves instrumental for the RE generation and that the plasma elongation increases the RE confinement which is also strongly correlated with the edge safety factor.
