AnotaceNonlinear Elastic Wave Spectroscopy (NEWS) methods may be considered as effective tools for the purpose of concrete Structural Health Monitoring. A combination of three NEWS procedures was tested on two concrete laboratory samples of nuclear reactor pressure vessel (RPV) cavity: SSM (Scale Subtraction Method), NWMS (Nonlinear wave Modulation Spectroscopy), and NLTRM (Nonlinear Time Reversal Mirrors). The samples of the form of real RPV sections were prepared from 3 different concrete mixtures corresponding to original structures. Although the tests were performed on new intact samples, results from all three procedures, which are discussed in this paper shown effective applicability of NEWS methods for periodic or continuous RPV cavity inspection even if concrete tests were performed only by the way of transmitting and receiving ultrasonic signals through the adjacent steel tubes ("ionization channels") buried in the concrete.
