Příspěvek se netradičním způsobem zabývá periodicitou ve vývoji lidské kultury, která spočívá ve střídání období rozkvětu a úpadku arbitrárních systémů. To lze chápat jako pulzování arbitrárních aspektů artefaktové kultury. K tomuto procesu dochází ve víceméně pravidelných intervalech. Tento symbolický koncept cyklického střídání lidských kultur může mít významné konsekvence s ohledem na revizi klasické klasifikace pravěkých kultur jako takových.

The chapter deals in the nontraditional way with the periodicity in the development of human culture, which lies in the alternation of periods of bloom and decline of arbitrary systems. This can be understood as the pulsation of arbitrary aspects of artefactual culture. This process comes at more or less regular intervals. This symbolic concept of cyclical alternation of human cultures can have significant consequences with regard to the revision of classic classification of prehistoric cultures as such.
