Chromosome numbers were determined in 21 species of angiosperms, representing the families Asteraceae, Brassicaceae Cyperaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Lamiaceae, Poaceae, Rosaceae, Rubiaceae, Scrophulariaceae, Valerianaceae and Violaceae. The source material came from Europe (mostly from the Czech Republic), one taxon was from Cuba. Presented karyological data involve one first chromosome count for the species and eleven first chromosome counts for a given country.
