    AnnotationFundamental principles and instrumental set-up of a novel concept of electromembrane extraction downscaled to a micro-format is presented. In this set-up, free liquid membranes are applied, which are not anchored in any supporting material and their dimensions can be precisely defined. The extraction system is examined with a set of two, which enable real-time visualizations using a USB microscope camera.
