This work deals with two-dimensional separations of peptides and proteins from biological matrices. Theoretical introduction describes extraction of proteins from biological matrices, modes of isoelectric focusing (IEF) and liquid chromatography (LC) used for fractionation in two-dimensional separation schemes, and current papers dealing with combination of IEF and LC. In the results chapter there are four papers, which passed reviews and have been published in international scientific journals.
