AnnotationDetermination of elastic properties of individual segregates in heterogeneous substances, such as rocks, ceramics, intermetallics, multiphase polycrystalline materials, etc., is an important problem in geophysics and material research. Indentation methods as modulus mapping, nano/micro-DMA, are useful tools for evaluation of local out-of-plane stiffness, especially for investigation of various precipitates in comparison to the properties of the matrix.
