A new geodynamical model of the subduction of the Nazca plate beneath the South American plate and develop numerical modelling method for analysis and better understanding of the tectonic setting of the Wadati-Benioff zone beneath western parts of the South American plate. The Nazca plate moves during the time period shorter than a characteristic time. Numerically the problem represents a FEM approximation of the variational inequality problem.
