The paper aims at searching for approaches and methods that could minimize the losses of the amateur metal detector users. The primary goal is to establish effective co-operation with amateurs who are ready to co-operate with the professional archaeologists and to respect the law. What is searched for is a platform on which these two worlds apart can find common language and mutual co-operation.
