We present a novel surface plasmon resonance (SPR) biosensor for direct detection of human interferon gamma (hIFN). The biorecognition elements for hIFNare engineered proteins derived from albumin binding domain (ABD). Two methods for the immobilization of ABD are compared: covalent coupling and immobilization via streptavidin–biotin interaction. The developed biosensor provides rapid and sensitive platform for the detection of hIFN at subnanomolar levels both in buffer and diluted human plasma.
