The effect of pretreatment and synthesis of Pd-Pt/SiO2-Al2O3 catalysts on HDS was studied. Catalysts prepared from Pd acetate and Pt tetraamine hydroxide were most active. HDS activity correlared with H2 content in the Pd hydride phase.
