    After 1989, new inspiration was offered to young Central European scholars in the form of stays and visits in the West. Most of them took the challenge, which led to a massive acceptance of new styles and meaningful use of international information interchange. There are several centers in the USA in which the medieval history of the Czech lands is cultivated, focused in particular on the Hussite movement, Bohemian reformation and the pre-White Mountain period.
