Nanocrystalline TiO2 bulk powders synthesized by various chemical approaches as (i) templated sol-gel method combined with super/subcritical fluid extraction or calcination and (ii) hydrolysis of titanium alkoxides in hydrogen peroxide solution combined with calcination were studied by XRD whole profile modelling method. Preparation of particles showing a given size and a reasonable size dispersion was the primary research objective. Hence, a special attention in the XRD analysis was given to the determination of a crystallite size distribution (CSD) and finding of correlations between the annealing temperature, phase composition and various structural (lattice parameters, Oxygen atom position, occupancy of Ti position, temperature factors) and microstructural (crystallite, microstrain) parameters. For all XRD analyses a computer program MStruct was used.
