The working fluid is air. Considering the slug flow model, the criterion is quantified using the hot-wire anemometry. Two evaluation methods are used based on the power characteristics and the power spectrum online observation. The formation criterion is correlated in terms of the Reynolds-Stokes number relationship. Alternatively, it is quantified using the critical stroke length, which systematically decreases from 0.6 to 0.3 as the Stokes number increases from 73 to 292.
