Kniha jako celek podává všeobecný přehled o jednotlivých technologiích obnovitelných zdrojů energie. Kapitola "Větrné elektrárny" popisuje z různých stránek problematiku větrné energetiky – zabývá se technologií větrných elektráren, historickým i současným vývojem větrné energetiky ve světě i v České republice, diskutuje ekologické i ekonomické aspekty větrné energetiky, zabývá se též problematikou malých větrných elektráren a možnostmi alternativních technologií využití energii větru.

The book as a whole provides a general overview over the renewable energy sources. The chapter "Wind turbines" describes the use of wind energy from various aspects – the technology of wind turbines is explained, there is an overview of historical and recent development of the wind energetics in worldwide as well as specifically in the Czech Republic, the environmental and economical aspects of wind energy are discussed, as well as the technology of small wind turbines and other alternative technologies harvesting the energy of wind.
