Publikace Umění české reformace (1380 - 1620) je prvním systematickým zpracováním nekatolické výtvarné kultury v Čechách v časovém záběru, který překračuje tradiční slohová vymezení. Zabývá se teoretickými problémy obrazu v reformačním prostředí, otázkami ikonoklasmu a funkcí výtvarné kultury v prostředí jednotlivých nekatolických konfesí (utrakvistů, Jednoty bratrské, luteránů a kalvinistů), dále analyzuje nejvýznamnější skupiny uměleckých děl (utrakvistická umělecká díla v liturgickém i veřejném prostoru, epitafy a iluminované rukopisy). Řeší otázku konfesionality uměleckého díla a možnosti současné uměnovědy k uchopení této kategorie.

The book Art of the Bohemian Reformation (1380 - 1620) is the first comprehensive work on non-Catholic art in Bohemia in the broadtime prospective that crosses the traditional style and period limits. It draws scholarly attention to the theory of image in the Reformation, questions of iconoclasm, and functions of art in non-Catholic confessions (the Utraquists, Unity of Brethren, Lutherans and Calvinists), as well as analyses the chief collections of monuments (Utraquist art in the sacred and urban space, epitaphs, and illuminated manuscripts). It focuses on the problem of confessional qualities of the artworks, and art history methods to capture them.
