Kapitola se zabývá vznikem a činností "Sudetendeutsche Anstalt für Landes- und Volksforschung", který v letech 1940-1945 navázal v Liberci na starší vlastivědné aktivity sudetských Němců. Vědecký program tohoto studijního ústavu byl zaměřen na interdisciplinární výzkum německého lidu na území bývalého Československa, byl ovšem silně ideologicky podmíněn.

The chapter deals with the origin and activities of the "Sudetendeutsche Anstalt für Landes- und Volksforschung" (Sudeten-German Institute for Local and National Research) that in 1940-1945 built on the older local and national activities of Sudeten Germans. Research program of the study institute was focused on the interdisciplinary research of German people in the former Czechoslovakia; nevertheless, it was strongly ideologically conditioned.
