The soil antinobacteria Rhodococcus rhodochrous PA-34, Rhodococcus species NDB 1165 and Nocardia glorula NHB-2 grouwn in the presence of isobutyronitrile exhibited nitrilace activitie towards benzonitrile. The resting cell suspensios eliminated benzonitrile and the benzonitrile analogues chloroxynil.
