Moreover, oscillations near the sharp wavefront in FE solution appear. In this work, the B-spline based finite element method is tested in numerical modelling in one-dimensional elastic wave propagation. The special attention is paid to the study of spurious oscillations in wavefront propagation problems with stress discontinuities.
