Svým odporem k demokratickým tradicím a extrémním individualismem se vylučoval z kontextu demokratické kultury první republiky. Ve svých historických hrách prosazoval kult nadčlověka, jako například ve hře Jan Žižka z Trocnova, kterou Zavřel napsal ve složité mezinárodní situaci v polovině třicátých let a dedikoval ji "československé branné moci". Description in English The article reflects the Hussite's theme in the specific case of František Zavřel (1884-1947), who as the author of several dozen theatrical plays, novels and collections of poetry was a controversial figure of Czech cultural life in the first half of the twentieth century. Through his opposition to the democratic traditions and through his extreme individualism, Zavřel excluded himself from the democratism of the First Republic. In his historical dramas, he promoted the cult of the übermensch, which is clear also in his play Jan Žižka from Trocnov, written by Zavřel in the period of the sharpening international situation in the mid-1930s and devoted to the "Czechoslovak defence powers".
