Electromembrane extraction proved to be a simple and rapid method for pretreatment of amino acids in body fluids. Pretreated amino acids were succesfully determined by CE-C4D in body fluids at normal (healthy individuals) as well as at elevated concentrations (inborn metabolic disorders, such as phenylketonuria and maple syrup urine disease).
