Experimental investigation has been carried out on high-speed compressible flow near the exit of a constant area minichannel. The rectangular cross section varied in height from 0.5 to 2 mm, in width from 10 to 100 mm, the channel length being 100 and 200 mm. Experiments have shown that the application of standard large channel data to scaled down channels may not be fully acceptable though the principal flow structure is about the same. This concerns mainly the friction factor at the critical cross section.
