Annotation
The enhanced, rapid, and probably controllable growth of lysozyme crystals at the surface of platinum disc electrodes, using an applied current and a simplified crystallizing solution, is demonstrated. A mechanism based on electrochemically-induced "shifts" in solution conditions are suggested and briefly discussed within the context of the protein/precipitant phase diagram.
