AnnotationThe paper deals with the topic of the hydrological modelling in various natural conditions as a possible tool for the water resources management. Particular components of the hydrological cycle are simulated by the meso-scale eco-hydrological Soil and Water Integrated Model (SWIM). The efficiency of the model is tested both for the agricultural and forested areas within the Czech Republic. Moreover, the temporal and spatial variability of the particular processes of the hydrological cycle is examined. Finally, the runoff responses caused by the similar meteorological situations are compared for both catchments.
