Na základě přehledu literatury představuje hlavní otázky a témata, na které se zaměřují následující kapitoly. Description in English This chapter describes theoretical backgrounds of this book. It shows that life course perspective provides an appropriate theoretical framework for a study of relations between the family and paid work arrangements. This chapter summarizes main changes in family behaviour in the Czech Republic during recent decades and their explanations. Based on this literature review, the chapter formulates the main research questions and topics, on which we will focus in the following chapters.
