A novel antimicrobial peptide named lasiocepsin was isolated and characterized from the venom of eusocial bee Lasioglossum laticeps. Lasiocepsin, which contains 27 amino acid residues and 2disulfide bonds, and other two analogs differing in positions of disulfide bridges were synthesized. They were tested on antimicrobial and hemolytic activities and their secondary structure was measured by CD.
