The first main finding of the study is significant volume laterality of the hippocampal formation in the Long-Evans rats. The second main finding is delayed permanent effect of corticosterone on the dominant hippocampal formation. We observed significant differences in volumes and especially in laterality of hippocampal subfields between control and corticosterone-treated animals
