This method has been used for testing of construction parameters of the hybrid argon-water torch WSP®H2000. Oscillations in the generated jet were observed using a linear array of eight photo-diodes positioned parallel to the axial axis of the jet image. The influence of a construction changes on the plasma velocity was studied by changing the exit nozzle diameter, the diameter of the arc channel and the argon flow rate. It appeared that decreased channel diameter in the cathode part of the torch resulted in higher the plasma velocity. Increase of the channel diameter near the torch nozzle resulted in plasma velocity reduction.
