In this work the WPPM method free of any a priori size distribution functions was applied to crystallites size distribution analysis in nanocrystalline bulk TiO2-anatase powders. Two approaches were tested here. In the first case size distribution was represented like in by a histogram, which was refined by LSQ fitting. The number of bins in the histogram was small. In the second approach number of histogram bins was high, comparable with number of points in reflections profiles and the size distribution was revealed by a maximum entropy algorithm (MEM). Few regularization conditions had to be applied to the size distribution in both cases to achieve reasonable results for measured data. This is described in detail. The results of the LSQ fitting and the MEM algorithm are compared. The method was used for characterization of crystallites size distribution to tailor preparation process and size dispersion of produced TiO2 samples.
