Research article describing miRNA pathway analysis, which showed that miRNAs are normally produced but their activity is suppressed. This is a surprising and important discovery in the field of pluripotent stem cells because mikroRNAs are required for defining the cellular identity and their absence in the oocyte suggests a ling to the later establishment of pluripotency.
