Cup-burner flame is characterized by low Froude numbers, which implies better physical similarity of this flame to real scale fire phenomena. Spectrally filtered IR imaging technique (based on soot emission/absorption monitoring) was employed to study the structure of uninhibited cup-burner flame. Ethylene and n-heptane were used as model fuels. Additionally, UV-VIS-NIR emission spectra of flames were measured.
