This study presents the application of thermogravimetric analysis, differential thermal analysis, thermomechanical analysis and optical microscopy in characterization of selected marble samples. From used thermal methods follows that the principial changes in marble decomposition occur in several temperature intervals, depending on marble composition. According to optical microscopy, the calcite grains can show marked morphological anisotropy in one direction. Therefore the thermal expansion had to be measured in three different (perpendicular each other) axis.

Tato práce je zaměřena na využití termogravimetrie, diferenční termické analýzy, termomechanické analýzy a optické mikroskopie k posouzení vlastností vybraných vzorků mramorů. Z výsledků použitých termických metod vyplývá, že ke změnám v tepelném chování mramorů dochází v několika intervalech v závislosti na jejich minerálním složení. Metoda optické mikroskopie poukázala na fakt, že některé ze sledovaných mramorů mohou vykazovat výraznou morfologickou anizotropii kalcitových zrn v jednom směru.
