Polypropylene is increasingly being used for this industry applications due to their advantageous properties. Cold plasma treatment represents an efficient, clean and practical use of metal-polymer layers in microelectronics and optoelectroics. The work deals with charakterisation of plasma irradiated PP plates. Samples were exposed to argon plasma discharge. Wettability and aging of surface was studied by goniometry, contact angle and surface energy measured. Surface morphology of PP was determinedby AFM. Chemical structure of modified PP was studied using XPS. Characterisation of modified layer was done by RBS. With increasing time from the plasma exposure of PP the contact angle increases. The oxygen containing groups were found on a surface after modification. Workplace Nuclear Physics Institute Contact Markéta Sommerová, sommerova@ujf.cas.cz, Tel.: 266 173 228 Year of Publishing 2010
