AnnotationThe paper summarizes results obtained at the Institute of Geonics of the ASCR, v. v. i. in the area of improvement of performance of the high-speed pulsating water jets. Results of the research aimed at the study of fundamentals of the process of excitation and propagation of high-frequency pressure pulsations in liquid via high-pressure system and their influence on forming and properties of pulsating liquid jet are presented in the paper. Analytical and numerical models of the high-pressure system including the acoustic generator, the transmitting line and the nozzle are presented briefly. Methods used in visualization of pulsating water jets and results of testing of pulsating water jet effects on various materials are also discussed.
