Our experiments (GC/MS, EAG, GC-EAD, bioessays) with P. simplex strongly suggest that dodecatrienol is a quantitatively minor component but a qualitatively important component of this trail pheromone. This work confirmed the first occurrence of two-component nature of the trail pheromone.
