The study documents changes in the chemical composition of igneous quartz during evolution of two contrasting late-Variscan granite suites in the Erzgebirge/Krušné Hory Mts., Czech Republic. Contents of Li, Be, B, Al, Ge, P, K, Na, Ca, Ti, Mn, and Fe were determined in situ using LA-ICP-MS. Al reached the highest contents in all samples (100-1200 ppm), followed by Ti, Li, and K (in the range of 10-100 ppm). The contents of B, Be, Ge, Fe, Mn, and P in quartz are usually lower than 10 ppm. The Ti versus Al diagram is the most fitting indicator of the evolution of the melt from which the quartz crystallised.
Studie dokumentuje změny chemického složení křemene během vývoje dvou kontrastních pozdně variských granitových plutonů v Krušných horách. Obsahy Li, Be, B, Al, Ge, P, K, Na, Ca, Ti, Mn a Fe byly stanoveny in situ pomocí metody LA-ICP-MS. Al dosahuje ve všech vzorcích nejvyšších obsahů ze všech stanovených prvků (100-1200 ppm), následován Ti, Li, a K v řádu 10-100 ppm. Obsahy B, Be, Ge, Fe, Mn a P v křemeni se pohybují kolem 10 ppm. Diagram obsahů Ti vers. Al v křemeni je nejvýstižnějším indikátorem vývoje granitové taveniny z níž křemen krystaloval.
