Analyzing the survey „Social distance 2007“ the article investigates the question, if in the Czech society the like-me principle or the prestige effect best explains the Subjective Social Distance in the stratification system. Using OLS-regressions it was shown, that in all 5 EGP classes the prestige effect is prevailing. However, comparing the regression slopes in the different classes a weak like-me effect was also detected.

V analýze dat z průzkumu „Sociální distance 2007“ se článek zabývá otázkou, zda v české společnosti má na subjektivní sociální distance ve stratifikačním systému vliv spíše princip podobnosti nebo prestiže. Užitím OLS regrese bylo ukázáno, že ve všech pěti sociálních třídách EGP převažuje efekt prestiže. Nicméně porovnáním regresních přímek v rozdílných skupinách byl také zjištěn mírný efekt podobnosti.
