AnnotationThe Postojnska jama–Planinska jama cave system and number of smaller caves between them are developed in the Postojnski kras situated between two dextral strike-slip fault zones of the Dinaric direction. Homogeneity of palaeomagnetic data can indicate fast deposition during short-lasted single-flood events. Such depositional style was favourable for record of short-lived excursions of the palaeomagnetic field. Most of studied sediments are younger than 0.78 Ma, some dates can indicate age deeply below 0.78 Ma. The cave system shows long evolution governed by the function of the Planinsko polje in the relation to the evolution of resurgence area in Ljubljana Moor farther on the east.
