AnnotationA set of easily solvable ordinary differential equations forengineering calculations of synthetic jets was derived and isshown to describe well the time-mean spatial distributionsof various quantities of interest (including, e.g., the energyof unsteady motions). An experiment performed to identifyan unknown "constant" in this model has shown it to be aparameter varying along the jet axis. This variation, incombination with the similarity solution at each distancefrom the nozzle, presents a new concept of quasi-similarity.
