As a fully electronic, low-dose and high spatial resolution digital dental-imaging device the system aims to observe the bone-to-implant tissue of order of tens of microns. Neutron radiography is proposed as a complementary diagnostic method to standard X-ray radiography as it can produce contrast images of materials which are otherwise indistinguishable in X-ray images. Neutron radiography and tomography tests have been carried out. Results are compared with other techniques. A review of recent developments and current status is presented.
