    AnnotationPretreatment with a selective agonist for subype 8 of group III metabotropic glutamate receptors (S)-3,4-dicarboxyphenylglycine provided a marked anticonvulsant and neuroprotective effect against seizures induced in immature rats by homocysteic acid. Anticonvulsant effect was evaluated from the EEG recordings and energy metabolism changes, neuroprotective effect by means of 2 methods (Nissl and Fluoro-Jade B staining)
