    AnnotationThe aim of this contribution is to present our experimental and theoretical results on extending the span length of repeater-less transmissions at 1 Gbit/s and 2.5 Gbit/s (possible up to 10 Gbit/s) over standard G.652 SMF (SSMF) using EDFA booster, distributed Raman fibre amplifier and EDFA preamplifier. Practical results are described and future goals are discussed as well.
